OCPA statement on Gov. Stitt signing agency accountability bills

Jonathan Small

After Gov. Kevin Stitt signed a series of bills to bring greater state agency accountability, Jonathan Small, president of the Oklahoma Council of Public Affairs (OCPA), released the following statement:

"Gov. Stitt, Speaker McCall, Pro Tem Treat, House Floor Leader Echols, Senate Floor Leader David, and Rep. Lepak should be commended for their work on this issue.

“For years, many state agencies lacked true accountability due to the structure of government. These bills ensure the Governor has the necessary authority to oversee the executive branch while bringing needed accountability to critical areas of state government.

“It’s refreshing to see state leaders prioritize building a more accountable and effective state government.”
