Statement from OCPA President Jonathan Small on Charter School Lawsuit

“OKCPS and TPS should step aside and stop trying to block a possible settlement of the charter school equitable-funding lawsuit. These two districts spend vast sums of money annually ($10,925 per student in OKCPS and $12,180 per student in TPS)—yet, incredibly, four out of five of their fourth-grade students lack proficiency in ELA and math. It’s clear that thousands of children are in a crisis situation and need more and better options right now. If OKCPS and TPS are serious about helping the most vulnerable among us, they’ll stop their tax-funded legal intervention and allow this equitable-funding lawsuit to be settled fairly.”
