Edmond Public Schools (EPS) has seen a moderate increase in enrollment over the last decade but has experienced a faster increase in revenue. Since 2010, EPS has seen a 53 percent increase in total revenue available.
With 4,500 new students over the last 10 years, per-pupil revenue has grown by 25 percent, from $13,663 per student to $17,146 per student. That’s more than $425,000 for a classroom of 25 students.

While total revenue has grown throughout the decade, EPS spending on instruction has fallen on a per-student basis. In 2010 EPS was spending $4,654 on instruction per student and now spends $4,523—a 3 percent decline.

As you can see on pages 3 and 4 of this document, the percentage of students scoring proficient on state tests is extremely disappointing for a school district with this much money.
