OCPA reacts to Oklahoma legislative leadership elections
After Charles McCall (R-Atoka) was reelected Speaker of the Oklahoma House of Representatives and Greg Treat (R-Oklahoma City) was elected President Pro Tempore of the Oklahoma Senate, Jonathan Small, president of the Oklahoma Council of Public Affairs (OCPA), released the following statement:
“Today’s legislative leadership elections are exciting for Oklahoma taxpayers. Both Speaker McCall and Pro Tem Treat have signaled fiscal restraint and strong support for protecting taxpayers compared to what tax consumers and special interests demanded from them.
“It’s a positive sign for Oklahoma taxpayers, families, and small businesses that Pro Tem Treat and Speaker McCall will be in leadership positions for the 2019 legislative session.”
